About Us

At VentureNiche, we take ideas and turn them into powerful niche companies. We really don’t want to be big. One of the main values of a niche is that the end user is far more identifiable and therefore it is much easier to design a GREAT product or service. Great products do what they say they are going to do and do it well without adding unnecessary functions or bloat. Niches also have a much more passionate user base who are more than willing to loudly share their feedback regarding the design and any issues that they have with the product. This kind of feedback is invaluable in improving and building on the business.

Some ideas are just plain sexy. It is socially attractive to be working on mass products with broad appeal. However, it is the unsexy, niche markets that often hold the greatest return. Competitors are drawn like moths to flame when the idea is sexy and products have the potential to cross the chasm to broad market acceptance. Niche markets are just plain easier in some respects. Often, competition is lacking. Margins are often higher. And the sustainability of a particular business model can often be much longer.

You know you are in a niche when one of your biggest competitors is non-consumption. Niche companies have the same challenges that all other businesses face. They have to keep their costs in line, they have to get their name in front of potential customer’s, they are impacted by the overall economy, and they have to close the sale when the opportunity presents itself. What they have taken off their to-do list is having to contend with fierce direct competition.

Niche companies require very little start up capital. When you have a small investment, the ROI can be very large. Another advantage with small investments is that we don’t bet the farm on one idea. When failures happen (and they will happen), we embrace them, learn from them and move on.
